Our food has to come from somewhere. Looking at food sources, agriculture, food security (ensuring everyone has access to good food) and the ethics of food production and consumption are all part of the wider food scene.

Slow Food founder Carlo Petrini inspired many with a talk at the Sydney Opera House.

The Sydney Food Fairness Alliance got many thinking about subjects as diverse as food waste and urban farming.

And children's school gardens had visits from chefs and tasting workshops, aimed at creating the thinking foodies of the future.
